cover #2: cry little sister

you have no idea how difficult it is to pick just one song per post, and to not immediately make 23,957,291,498 posts in one day listing all the cool cover songs at my disposal.

even more difficult is trying to pick covers that are ironic. i could easily post limp bizkit's cover of behind blue eyes, but they basically took the song and did it exactly like the original, so there's not really anything fun about that. now, ben folds singing bitches ain't shit, that's funny.

song: cry little sister
cover band: mystic circle
original: gerard mcmahon

comments: the cover is all growly and guttural and whatnot. the original seems much more plaintive, and yet somehow less wussy. iunno.

first song is cover, second is original.

where can you get it?
gerard mcmann (it is actually him, he goes by some weirdo name i guess) - cry little sister
unfortunately, you can't buy the mystic circle version on amazon.com. i guess check itunes, or brave the wilds of the intarwebs.

lyrics: a last fire will rise
behind those eyes
black house will rock
blind boys don't lie
immortal fear
that voice so clear
through broken walls
that scream I hear

cry, little sister
thou shall not fall
come to your brother
thou shall not die
unchain me, sister
thou shall not fear
love is with your brother
thou shall not kill

blue masquerade
strangers look on
when will they learn
this loneliness?
temptation, heat
beats like a drum
deep in your veins
i will not lie

little sister
thou shall not fall
come to your brother
thou shall not die
unchain me, sister
thou shall not fear
love is with your brother
thou shall not kill

my shangri-la
i can't forget
yhy you were mine
i need you now

cry, little sister
thou shall not fall
come to your brother
thou shall not die
unchain me, sister
thou shall not fear
love is with your brother
thou shall not kill
